Udupi: Touring Students Injured in Truck – Tavera SUV Collision

Udupi / Padubidri, May 22: Eight persons were injured when they were returning from the tour to Murdeshwar temple, located in Uttar Kannada district in their Tavera SUV, on Tuesday May 20 evening.

The students of Sri Narayana Guru Industrial Training Institute, Katipalla located in the suburban Mangalore had left on tour to Murdeshwar temple, since they had holiday on account of Buddha Jayanti on Tuesday.



They were returning after the tour when their Tavera was hit by an oncoming truck at Yermal, in front of Sri Janardhan temple, on National Highway (NH) 17. The collision left 8 students injured and both the automobiles damaged.

The injured student passengers were identified as Vishuprasad Mukka (22), Supreet Kuloor (19), Jeevan Katipalla (19), Anil Suratkal (21), Pramod Kotian (20), Bharatraj (18) who were admitted at Prashant Nursing Home, Kaup. 

Hospital sources informed that they are recovering fairly well and ruled out any threat to their life.

Padubidri police have registered a case in this regard.
