Suicide bomber attacks Shiite mosque in Kabul: police


Kabul, Aug 25 (Agence France-Presse): A suicide bomber blew himself up inside a Shiite mosque in Kabul today in what officials said was an ongoing attack, the latest violence to strike the Afghan capital.

Kabul police spokesman Abdul Basir Mujahid told AFP a suicide bomber "detonated himself inside the mosque", adding that there were casualties but he could not confirm how many. The interior ministry confirmed a "terrorist attack" had taken place.

    If people believed that suicide bombers are martyrs going to the highest place in "Jannah", then religious leaders should make public announcements that it is wrong, wrong, wrong. Perhaps then, and only we could all live and let live.
