Swiftly resolve 30,000 pending cases of departments: Mamata

Kolkata, Sep 5 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday sought swift resolution of 30,000 cases of different administrative departments that are pending in courts.

"There are 30,000 pending cases. It's a recurring expense for the government. We want the cases to be solved as early as possible... so each and every department has been asked to look into it," Banerjee told the media here at the State Secretariat after an administrative review meeting.

She said there were discussions pertaining to each department and issues like dengue, malaria, mid-day meals, and floods were also on the table.
