UN chief condemns attack on peacekeepers in Mali


United Nations, Sep 6 (IANS): UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned an attack on a convoy of UN peacekeepers in Mali that killed two and injured two others.

Extending his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, he wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Guterres' spokesman Stephane Dujarric in a statement said the Secretary General noted attacks against peacekeepers may constitute war crimes under international law.

Tuesday's attack on the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (Minusma) happened in the Kidal region, Xinhua reports.
