Seven coaches of Shaktipunj express derails in UP

Lucknow, Sep 7 (IANS): At least seven coaches of the Shaktipunj Express derailed near Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. No one was injured.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred near Obara around 6 a.m. The train from Howrah in West Bengal was headed to Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

East Central Railway Spokesperson Rajesh Kumar told IANS, all stranded passengers were shifted to the unaffected front coaches of the express and brought to Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh.

"The train with the rest of the passengers left from the accident site around 7.30 a.m.," Kumar said.

"General Managers and other senior officials have rushed to the accident spot and work was on to restore the traffic," he said.

The reason for the derailment was not yet clear. However, Kumar ruled out the possibility of broken tracks, and said, "The matter is under investigation. We can only comment after the enquiry is complete."

This is the fourth major train derailment in a month and first after Piyush Goyal took over as the new Railway Minister on Monday.

It is appropriate that BJP should be renamed as 'Derailment Sarkar'. This is the fourth such accident in less that 20 days after third shuffle for the Railway Ministry.

Instead of addressing the accident victims and investigation the new Railway Minister is in Karnataka supporting 'Mangalore Chalo' who is also a deputy campaign head for party in the Karnataka.

In the last ministry in his official Twitter post he has posted Russian city as PM Modi's success for illuminating India. He was later deleted the post after Tweeter exposed it.

These repeated accidents shows India don't need 'bullet train', but train which can carry the passenger safely and timely.

How PM Modi can afford 'Bullet train' when India don't even have adequate tools to detect cracks in the railway lines?

Is Bullet train is more prestigious than the lives of common travellers of India?
Tourism minister raised the beef eating issue, new railway minister in Karnataka for BJP campaign. Do they know what is their priorities of the government? Is this the purpose of reshuffling?

No accountability for a spate of rail accidents. The railway Minister should have resigned long ago. Misplaced Priorities for the Bullet Train instead of alloting funds for track maintenance and ensuring rail safety for the common man.

if the past govts have really concentrated on development instead of development of themselves, there would have been responsible offices in duty and corrective measure would hv taken to replace the defective lines. Reservation systems have filled the idiots and lazy freaks into the system and no is accountable to the mismanagement. Mr.Prabhu was the best minter to be since independence and what he or anyone at this juncture cannot be doing much , he did his best ..unless the reservation system is abolished and recruitment is based on merits nothing can change india.
