Modi government should be renamed 'Derailment sarkar': Congress

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS): Following three train derailments on Thursday, the Congress slammed the Narendra Modi government, saying it should be renamed the "derailment sarkar".

"Third train derailment today (Thursday). Safety in shambles. Modi Sarkar should be renamed as 'Derailment Sarkar'," tweeted Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.

Three train derailments rocked the Railways within a span of 12 hours on Thursday -- three days after new Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took charge, leading him to order an immediate review of safety standards.

Earlier after the second incident, Surjewala had said: "Second derailment today. Daily train accidents expose grave threat to passanger safety as Railway Ministry remains in deep slumber."

He also said: "Another train accident caused by derailment in Uttar Pradesh post reshuffling of cards, when will we have passanger safety measures in place?"

This is absurd and unfair. Congress has ruled the country for more than 50 plus years and during thier tenure whole sysyem was rotten due to poor maintainace. Now inspite of taking good intiative for betterment of the system , they want to blame the government and politisise the issue.

Mr. Modi should first learn to walk and only after that talk about flying. Bring the derailed trains on track first before talking about bullet trains.

MUST BE HANDIWORK OF CONGRESS AGENTS IN RAILWAY DEPT. TO BLAME MODI.

WHEN ANY ACCIDENTS TOOK PLACE WE SHOULD FORGET DIFFERENCE SHARE THE GRIEF.

IF ANY BODY BLAMES UNCONNECTED PERSON WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE REASON.

IT IS MASTER PLAN TO ATTACK SOMEBODY. WE HAVE SEEN CONGRESS FROM THE PAST.

IT NEVER TRIED TO TAKE MAJORITY COMMUNITY TO CONFIDENCE IN ALL THESE YEARS.

BUT MODI IS ALWAYS "SUB KE SAATH" WHICH IS A MUST FOR SURVIVAL OF THE COUNTRY.

Keep blaming Congress for another 2 years because past 3 years BJP have been doing just that when they don't perform. In 2019 when BJP lose they can then blame themselves.

Main reason for derailment is the acute unemployment in India. The gangmen in railways (presently called track maintainers) were a dedicated lot with education that was just needed for the work. But, recently, as per Times of India, many graduates and postgraduates were given this job where not more than 8 Std is needed. It is reported that majority of these highly educated people prefer to do some odd jobs at officers' houses than doing strenuous job on the track in hot sun.
This has affected the job of railways where very careful full time vigilance is needed.
