Mangalore: 'I did not have Enough Time to Meet Voters' - Bava

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SMK)

Mangalore, May 29: Moidin Bava who was defeated by Krishna Palemar in Mangalore North constituency by a margin of 14,426 votes said that lack of sufficient time for campaigning was the reason behind his defeat.

Addressing the media persons here on Wednesday May 28 he said that the party had nominated him at the last moment and meanwhile his opponent had covered most of the blocks of constituency by going for campaigning three months in advance. As a result, he did not have sufficient time to approach voters individually which is the prime reason for defeat, he said.

He opined that he was favoured by 40 percent of voters against a strong opponent and he is satisfied with that.

He expressed his gratitude to party workers, whom he appreciates for working day and night for his victory.

Replying to a question whether he would be an aspirant for the Lok Sabha Elections he said that the decision has to be taken by Congress high command. 'It is not appropriate to comment at this moment,' he said.

He congratulated Krishna Palemar and said he will work for the betterment of the constituency by extending all possible help and maintaining peace and harmony in the constituency.

Ganesh, Pervez, Krishna Amin and Sharif were present at the press meet.
