25 policemen suspended as undertrial is shot dead in Bihar court


Patna, Sep 9 (IANS): Twenty-five police officials were on Friday put under suspension in Bihar for laxity on duty after an undertrial prisoner was killed by unidentified criminals on the court premises, police said.

Guddu Singh, an undertrial prisoner, was shot dead outside the court of Additional District Judge in Barh town of Patna district on Friday afternoon. Two others were also injured in the firing.

The attack took place when Guddu Singh was being taken to the lockup after his presentation in the court in a case of kidnapping and murder.

Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) S.K. Singhal said 25 police officials, including two Sub-Inspector and 23 constables, were suspended for laxity in duty.
