Noida Double Murder: Police Story Full of Contradictions

NDTV

New Delhi, May 30: The Noida police now claim that the main accused in Aarushi murder case Dr Rajesh Talwar called and informed them about the domestic Hemraj's body lying on the terrace.

To get to the bottom of this, the police have applied for permission to carry out a narco analysis test. Hearing on this will be held most likely on Friday.

The police's case diary reveals that Rajesh Talwar has confessed to both the murders of his 14-year-old daughter and of Hemraj that he promised to reveal the location of the murder weapon.

The police say Rajesh Talwar had informed them about Hemraj's body while he was on his way to Hardwar for Aarushi's last rites.

But here again there are contradictions. Retired policeman KK Gautam was the one who spotted bloodstains near the terrace door and called the police. That's when the police discovered the body.

So who really informed the police?

The police have submitted description of all the material seized from the crime scene of Aarushi murder.

Politics over murder

Earlier, UP Chief Minister Mayawati said that her government is ready for CBI inquiry into Aarushi murder case, provided Centre agrees to it. Mayawati also accused Centre of playing politics over Aarushi case.

However, Renuka Chowdhary has dismissed those claims by Mayawati that it is scoring points for political gains in the wake of 14-year-old Noida girl Arushi Talwar's murder.

The minister said she's shocked. She added: ''I am reacting as a mother. I wish Mayawati would know what it is to feel that way. It is matter of concern that a young innocent girl is killed inside her house. This is of greater concern than dragging politics into it.''

The UP Police have been accused of bungling the Noida double murder case. Aarushi's family had also wanted the country's premier investigating agency to probe the case.

But it seems that Mayawati is less swayed by the family's demand and is more concerned with criticism for Women and Child Welfare Minister Renuka Chowdhary.

Renuka Chowdhary had slammed the UP Police for their insensitive references to the young victim.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry on Thursday said there is no need for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Aarushi murder case.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force is already probing the matter and there is no need for a CBI inquiry, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters in New Delhi.

He was responding to UP Chief Minister Mayawati's decision to recommend the case for a CBI probe.
