Key Taliban commander killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, Sep 10 (IANS): Four militants, including a key Taliban commander, were killed and two others injured on Sunday during a security offensive in Afghanistan's Kunduz province, a senior official said.

"The security forces launched the offensive on a Taliban hideout in Qala-e-Zal district, killing four militants, including the notorious commander Mawlawi Ismael, on the spot," the official told Xinhua news agency.
