All Indians originally Hindus, Hinduism's door open to all: RSS' Mohan Bhagwat

Haridwar, Sep 12 (PTI): RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said all Indians were originally Hindus and that the doors of Hinduism are open to all.

He was speaking at Patanjali Yogpeeth where a programme was organised by yoga guru Ramdev on Monday to mark Bhagwat’s birthday.

“We don’t convert people to Hinduisim and we believe that our forefathers, no matter which community we represent today, were Hindus,” the RSS chief said.

“The doors of Hinduism are open to all even today as we believe all of us originally are Hindus,” he said.

Ramdev gifted the RSS chief a mace on his birthday and appealed to him to keep the flame of Hinduism burning.

Earlier in the day, Bhagwat visited the Suratgiri Ashram for a Ganga Arti and to seek the blessings of the saints and seers.

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also arrived at the ashram to greet him and gifted him a book and a replica of the Kedarnath shrine.

Bhagwat also felicitated the parents of Captain Vikram Batra and Captain Manoj Pandey, who were killed during the 1999 Kargil war, at the ashram.

Uttarakhand assembly speaker Premchand Agrawal, cabinet minister Madan Kaushik and Ashram chief Jagadguru Vishweshwaranand Giri were among those who attended the programme.

There were no boundaries before. Hindu is not a religion. People who lived on the banks of Indus valley were called Indu. Persians and other from gulf countries who visited couldn't pronounce Indu so they started calling it Hindu. Before British there was not once country India, there were several states like countries ruled by different dynasties. Britishers made a India what we have today. Though they looted us but we were benefited and united as a country.

Today these fundamental elements from our own country dividing us again. But its impossible because India is diversified country all should move forward together else it will be disaster.

In the Ramayana, the term Arya can also apply to Raksasas or to Ravana. In several instances, the Vanaras and Raksasas called themselves Arya. The vanara's king Sugriva is called an Arya (Ram: 505102712) and he also speaks of his brother Bali as an Arya (Ram: 402402434). In another instance in the Ramayana, Ravana regards himself and his ministers as Aryas. A logical explanation is that Ravana and his ministers belonged to the highest varna (Ravana being a Brahmin), and Brahmins were generally considered "noble" of deed and hence called Arya (noble). Thus, while Ravana was considered Arya (and regarded himself as such), he was really an Arya because he was noble of deeds. So he is widely considered by Hindus as Arya (Noble Man) - Ravana was South Indian - Srilankan !

Do you mean they could not have married because they were brothers and sisters? Actually, in the previous versions of Islam (that is, the ancient heavenly messages revealed before last prophet), marriage between brothers and sisters was not banned. God made for every era a different Shari`ah (law) that suits the needs of life on earth, and the stage of development that humanity is at. The Quran says what means:{For each We have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way.} (surah Al Al-Ma’idah 5:48) Scholars said that Hawaa’ (Eve) delivered twins—a boy and a girl—with each pregnancy. Twins were not allowed to marry each other, but they were allowed to marry another brother or sister

A thoroughly misguided and misconstrued view! All Indians were not Hindus. Even the Hindus in India are immigrants, the descendants of Aryans who migrated to India somewhere in 1300 BC. In fact India did not have a religion before Aryans stepped in. The original inhabitants of this land are pre-Dravidians and Tribes. This has been clearly told by the Supreme Court in a 2011 judgment. If it was believed at one time that Dravidians were the original inhabitants of India, that view has since been considerably modified. Now the generally accepted belief is that the pre-Dravidian aborigines, that is, the ancestors of the present tribals or Adivasis (Scheduled Tribes), were the original inhabitants. This is the thesis put forward in a judgment delivered on January 5, 2011 by a Supreme Court of India Bench comprising Justice Markandey Katju and Justice Gyan Sudha Misra. This historical disquisition came in Criminal Appeal No. 11 of 2011, arising out of Special Leave Petition No. 10367 of 2010 in Kailas & Others versus State of Maharashtra TR. Taluka P.S. Even the so called language of India Sanskrit is not originally Indian. It came here from the Middle East somewhere near present day Syria. Read history and then make arguments. Here not just Christians or Muslims foreigners but even the Hindus. In fact the first Christians of India were not Hindu converts but group of Jews who had come to India and settled along the Malabar cost in and around 562 BC when their Synagogue was destroyed. First Church in India was built in 57 AD at Thiruvithamcode in Tamil Nadu. This land is of Dravidians and pre-Dravidians who had not religion till Aryans invaded them and forced their beliefs and practices on them. Hence stop misguiding people with distorted facts. Today’s youth have education and burst your myth in seconds Bhagawat.

Pre-Dravidians, Tribes and their practices are original. Rest all invaders here including Aryans who forcefully converted the Dravidians and made them to accept their beliefs and religion. The founding language of the family from which Sanskrit is from is called Proto-Indo-European. Its daughter is a language called Proto-Indo-Iranian, so called because it is the origin of the languages of North India and Iran

The, well, encyclopedic, Encyclopedia of Indo-European Culture, edited by JP Mallory and DQ Adams, writes of the earliest speakers of Proto-Indo-Iranian emerging in the southern Urals and Kazakhstan. These steppe people, representing what is called the Andronovo culture, first appear just before 2000 BC.

From this Central Asian homeland diverged a group of people who had now stopped speaking Proto-Indo-Iranian and were now conversing in the earliest forms of Sanskrit. Some of these people moved west towards what is now Syria and some east towards the region of the Punjab in India.

David Anthony writes that the people who moved west were possibly employed as mercenary charioteers by the Hurrian kings of Syria. These charioteers spoke the same language and recited the same hymns that would later on be complied into the Rig Veda by their comrades who had ventured east.

These Rigvedic Sanskrit speakers usurped the throne of their employers and founded the Mitanni kingdom. While they gained a kingdom, the Mitanni soon lost their culture, adopting the local Hurrian language and religion. However, royal names, some technical words related to chariotry and of course the gods Indra, Varuna, Mitra and the Nasatyas stayed on.

The group that went east and later on composed the Rig Veda, we know, had better luck in preserving their culture. The language and religion they bought to the subcontinent took root. So much so that 3,500 years later, modern Indians would celebrate the language of these ancient pastoral nomads all the way out in Bangkok city

    Mr. RK, Mangalore,
Who said nobody is original in India? The Dravidians in the south are original inhabitants of the country. In our coastal region, the Konkani speaking Catholics from Goa to Mangalore and Tulu / Kannada speaking Protestants were originally Hindus. While the Catholics were converted by the Portuguese, the Protestants were converted by the German and British missionaries.

I pity at the statement made by Mohan Bhagwath and his lack of knowledge. Many Indians may be originally Hindus but not all of them. There was considerable settlement of Persians and Arabs in India when during the medieval period. This settlement is either due to trade or foreign invasions. these Persians and Arabs were not Hindus but they settled in India. like wise during Greek invasion many came to India crossing Indu Kush mountains and out of theses some went back and many settled in India especially in north western frontier provinces. likewise Chinese also settled in India in two communities with separate origins and settlement. One is of immigrants from China and Indian-born people of Chinese ancestry and the other is of expatriate Chinese living in India for terms of usually 2–3 years. The immigrant community started centuries ago and became more prominent in the late 18th century with arrivals working at the ports in Calcutta and Madras, and has gone on to contribute to the social and economic life of Kolkata through manufacturing and trade of leather products and running Chinese restaurants.] The community numbers about 4,000 with around 2,000 living in Kolkata and 400 families in Mumbai, where there are Chinatowns. Like wise different cults have settled in India whose forefathers were not Hindus. there is one small tribal community called siddi in Uttara Kannada / North Canara district of Karnataka. They migrated from Africa during colonial period. Therefore, the claim that all Indians were originally Hindus does not hold any water. More over, Aryans also Migrated from central Asia and when they migrated there were not Hindus. Kindly don't spread false and fake theories in order to suit your ideology.

The evidence against Adam and Eve existing has caused many Christians to move away from a literal interpretation and belief in the Genesis creation narrative to an allegorical approach, while others continue to believe in what they see as fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. In particular the evidence for their non-existence casts doubt on original sin and the origin and nature of evil.

People molded its principles and doctrines as per their convenience and for their benefits. Like mother Theresa said "I convert a Hindu to be a good Hindu, Muslim to be a good Muslim and Christian a good Christian". Being a Christian if I do all bad things and if a non-christian do every good thing, I am sure God will be pleased with non-christian more than with Christian. Leaders with little knowledge of their on religion speak anything senseless and live their royal life. Only one thing is sure that we all are creation of one God.
