Thales completes acquisition of Big Data expert Guavus

London, Sep 12 (IANS): Global aerospace and defence services provider Thales on Tuesday announced that it has completed the acquisition of US-based tech firm Guavus.

Guavus specialises in real-time Big Data analytics with a total employee strength of 250, 140 of which are based out of Gurugram.

"The acquisition of Guavus represents a tremendous accelerator of our digital strategy for the benefit of all our customers, whether in aeronautics, space, rail signalling, defence or security," said Patrice Caine, Chairman and CEO, Thales, in a statement.

Thales plans to leverage Guavus' industrial Big Data platform designed to be implemented across new markets.

The business, which will be assigned to Thales' Defence and Security operating segment, will help the company address the growing needs of a connected global ecosystem.
