Gurgaon school seeks transfer of trial from Haryana to Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS): The Supreme Court will hear on September 18 a plea by Ryan International School seeking transfer of trial outside Haryana of the case related to the murder of a Class 2 student in its Gurugram branch.

Francis Thomas - the north zone administrator of the school - sought transfer from a Haryana court to one in Delhi.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra said the matter would be taken up for hearing on Monday.

Senior counsel K.T.S. Tulsi sought the transfer from Sohna court in Haryana to Delhi.

Tulsi told the bench that the Sohna Bar Association has passed a resolution saying no lawyer would appear for the accused in the brutal murder of Pradhuman Thakur, a seven-year-old student who was found with his throat slit inside the school's washroom on September 8.

The court was told that the defence lawyers going from Delhi also faced hostility in the Sohna court.
