Bangalore, Jun 3: Former minister and JD(S) leader H D Revanna on Tuesday, June 3, challenged new chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to conduct an investigation into the scams reported during the latter’s tenure as Deputy Chief Minister.
This was in reaction to Yeddyurappa’s decision to conduct a probe into all the scams reported during the reigns of past state governments.
Speaking to media persons, Revanna welcomed the move and queried whether the chief minister would have examined the scams which took place during the reigns of S M Krishna and Dharam Singh as well or only during Kumaraswamy's tenure.
Revanna questioned whether the BJP would favour Ashok Kheni of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) in return for his role as the party’s treasurer during the poll campaign. He also urged the newly formed government to proceed in accordance with the court verdict.
Firing yet another salvo at the BJP leader, Revanna enquired when the minister intended to make good on his election promise to provide farmers in the state with free electricity for their pump sets since it was already four days since Yeddyurappa assumed office.
