Mangaluru, Sep 25: "After completing their graduation, students are stepping into the real world. It is very important for them to avoid committing any mistakes there as even minor mistakes cannot be corrected. Likewise, no one should feel proud of their educational qualifications and become arrogant at the knowledge they possess. They should develop the habit of respecting everyone," advised director of National Institute of Technology Suratkal, Dr K Uma Maheshwar Rao.

He spoke after inaugurating the fifth annual convocation programme of Bearys Institute of Technology at Innoli here on Saturday September 23.

Dr Sadiq Said Muhammed, director of Centre for Economics and Management and Centre for Comunication and IT Research of King Fahd Petroleum and Minerals University, Saudi Arabia, who delivered the keynote address, noted that firms when hiring people lay more emphasis on their skills than their knowledge.
