Bangalore, Jun 7: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday expanded his eight-day-old ministry, inducting his trusted lieutenant Katta Subramanya Naidu into the cabinet.
Governor Rameshwar Thakur administered the oath of office and secrecy to Naidu at Raj Bhavan.
With Saturday's induction, the strength of the BJP ministry has gone upto to 31.
Yeddyurappa and 29 ministers were sworn-in on May 30, marking the installation of the first ever saffron party government in South.
Naidu, whose name the BJP high command had cleared, could not take oath on May 30 as he was away from the capital.
Naidu had served as the Minister for Industries in the previous JDS-BJP Coalition and represents Hebbal assembly consitutency in the city.
Yeddyurappa has chosen to keep three ministerial berths vacant.
