Belthangady, Jun 10: Miffed over the unhygienic conditions and haphazard management observed at the government hospital here during his visit, minister Krishna J Palemar has instructed the district health officer Dr H Jagannath to suspend chief medical officer of the hospital Dr Adam for dereliction of duties, with immediate affect.

The minister took umbrage to the dirty and unclean atmosphere in the hospital, as observed during his visit on Monday evening.  The patients came up with numerous complaints like improper lighting and fans, improper facilities at the bath room, etc., Complaints were also made against the inefficient administration of the  chief medical officer Dr Adam. The minister was also unhappy over the fact that the doctor in question did not come to the hospital inspite of being aware that the minister was on a visit.

The minister expressed the opinion that the condition in the hospital was not at all congenial for faster recovery of the patients and instructed the district health officer to suspend the erring doctor and post another medical officer in his place immediately.
