Udupi: Sikkim Manipal University Launches Student Engagement Initiative

Udupi, Jun 10: Manipal Education brand ambassador and  captain of India's test cricket team Anil Kumble launched the  Sikkim Manipal University's personal e-mail ID iniative, meant for the use of the students of the universityat the National Learning Centre Convention held in Manipal on Monday June 9.

University programmes president Rajen Padukone who was present at the programme, said that the iniative has been launched for facilitating on-line communication between students of this university. The e-mail ID confined only for the students of the university will create a sense of belonging among them. They can interact, exchange views and create online fraternity, he explained.

Throwing further light on the subject, Padukone said, that this facility will enable the students of the university to keep track of the latest developments in the university and programmes undertaken by it. The students will have a unique identity of their own, which will be of great help in shaping their carriers, he opined.

The convention provided a platform for the students to interact with Kumble, meet various people and create a network among themselves.

Manipal university pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal and Sikkim Manipal University vice-chancellor Dr Jayakumar were present.

More than 500 heads of institutions from across the country took part in the event.
