Magnitude-6 quake hits Japan


Tokyo, Oct 6 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale jolted Japan's Fukushima prefecture on Friday.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), no tsunami warning has been issued as a result of the quake, reports Xinhua news agency.

The quake's epicentre was located at a latitude of 37.5 degrees north and a longitude of 144.0 degrees east, with a depth of 6 km, according to the JMA.

There were no reports of any damage or injuries.
