Bantwal: Leopard falls into trap kept to catch wild animals, dies

Bantwal, Oct 7: A leopard was found dead in a trap placed to catch wild animals at Pudu gram panchayat here on Saturday, October 7.

According to sources, the leopard must have got caught in the trap which was placed by locals to catch wild animals.

Forest department officials and the Bantwal rural police officers visited the spot and conducted further investigations. 

Post-mortem has been conducted and more details are awaited.

    At present looks like more wild cats around than persons .They cant survive without any wild animal food in forest.Thatswhy they come to civilization,cause conflict.Forest dept must keep control over this.which I dont think they have. Hardly we have any forest first.sad that this beutiful animal had to die.

    What's a big deal. Just a leopard which was trapped and got killed. So many human beings are killed every day for various reasons.

    No surprise. Animals Govt. will take care of animals. before 2019 there will be COW hospitals everywhere than human hospitals.

    Life is same for humans and animals...
    Any death which is not normal is always investigated...
    There is more post mortem on animals in wider world today due to their ever diminishing numbers...
    We humans have been extra cruel on animals...
    This is a fact even you can not deny...
