Mangaluru: Zubair murder - BJP cannot demand Khader’s resignation – Ivan D’Souza

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Oct 7: "We strongly condemn the murder of Zubair at Mukkacherry near Ullal. Congress party has no role to play in Zubair’s murder,” said chief whip of legislative council Ivan D Souza.

He also said that BJP has no moral right to demand minister U T Khader’s resignation over the murder issue.

Addressing media here on Saturday October 7, Ivan D Souza said, "Congress is responsible enough to provide security to the people and we have handled communal issues very effectively. We have taken stringent action against those who have delivered provocative speeches,”

“Murders may occur due to personal or many other reasons. I urge BJP not to politicise murders and give communal colour to any murder as this area is very sensitive and has witnessed several untoward incidents,” he added.

“BJP even claimed that killing has been perpetrated by the drug mafia. I have discussed and brought this matter to the notice of police commissioner T R Suresh. I have been informed that a special cell has been formed to trace drug mafia and we need to contain drug mafia,” Ivan said.

"I request home minister Ramalinga Reddy to send a special squad to Mangaluru to trace the drug mafia especially in border areas where the drug is easily available and transported. I also request the government to provide compensation to Zubair’s family,” he said.

“BJP has no moral right to demand the resignation of U T Khader. He is one of the most secular ministers and there is no point in asking his resignation.” Ivan concluded.

Corporator D K Ashok, Sahul Hameed, M Nazeer and others were present.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hanumantharaya personally as he took charge as the DCP law and order during my absence in Mangalore. However I called him from U.S.A. and had a very cordial discourse with him. He seemed pleased and resourceful.

It is unfortunate that this able and efficient officer is going on a transfer so soon. However good officers like these go on relocation with the GOODWILL AND BLESSINGS of all those they have come in contact with. Best of luck Mr. Hanumantharaya. Please come back after a while and be A COMMISSIONER OF MANGALORE

What has Mr. Khader to do with the murder under reference. Murders and killings have been taking place in different areas. Instead of asking any one's resignation it is expedient that PEACE COMMITTEES are formed to bring about CHANGE OF HEARTS.

Hope LIKE MINDED people will join hands and find solutions to the gnawing situation.

If opposition demands resignation of BJP tainted and corrupt ministers then there won't be left anyone in BJP cabinet and Nagpur headquarters. All will bite dust starting from PM.

Combination of lapses in communication led to the ultimate heinous slaying...
If any organisation wants to kill someone it is not at all difficult these days...
Whether the state is governed by BJP or Congress or CPM hardly matters..
Murders can be contained but not stopped...
Gauri murder could have been stopped if state government recognised the threat to her life...
But poor Zubair spoke the truth and he was not even rescued by providence...
That is the tragedy of the innocent lives...

Ivan, its better you stay away from Congress; Join Bjp for your better carrier, Yeddi wants people like you. Kind advice not to contest the election, because you will loose. In your place, choose fresh a candidate, he/she would win the race.
