Government lost high moral ground after defending Jay Shah: Yashwant

Patna, Oct 11 (Agencies): Dissident BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Wednesday slammed the government for defending party chief Amit Shah's son Jay Shah over allegations hurled against him and said it had thus lost its high moral ground.

"I don't want to comment on the merit of the case as it is a matter of investigation but I would like to say the manner in which a central minister jumped into the fray... He is a central minister, not a chartered accountant of Jay Shah," Sinha told NDTV.

Sinha also criticized the government for allowing Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to take on the case of Jay Shah.

"These were avoidable and should not have happened. The very special circumstances in which the Additional Solicitor General has been cleared to defend the concerned person also raises some issues and that was also to my mind avoidable.

"Looking at all these therefore perhaps the high moral ground that we had occupied all these months and years somehow appears to have been lost," said the former Finance Minister.

Jay Shah's company has reportedly recorded a turnover of Rs 80 crore in 2015 after showing just Rs 50,000 the previous year.

Sinha was asked whether the issue had dented the image of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I am not going to those details. An episode takes place. Your reaction to that determines whether you are still occupying a high moral ground or you have quit that high moral ground. From the way we have responded the party and the government, it appears the high moral ground has been lost," Sinha said.

He said the matter must be investigated. "We have lots of agencies which can do it."

Asked about the defamation case filed against the website while reported the story, Sinha said: "Media is a very important integral part of democracy and that is why it is regarded as the fourth pillar. To try and supress the voice of media either directly or through any other means including for instance this defamation case of Rs 100 crore was also avoidable."

Sinha created a furore after attacking the government's management of economy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified later that the economy was on sound track.

Did BJP have High Moral ground ever???. Thier high moral ground was swept away along with Britishers when they left and a remaining bit when they killed Gandhi. BJP is one political party in India which doesn't have any morals.

For BJP leaders and 'burnol' selling on social media of bhaktha use to add suffix of 'G' for every corruption during UPA.
Now this 'G' seems to costly for BJP as the proved to be 'jijaji' of corruption.
Neither 'black money' came back nor 'corruption free India' became reality under BJP.
In the past corruption is in 'thousand' crores. Now under BJP no one how many 'zeros' need to be added as every mainstream media likes to toe the line of party and self censor the reality.
Notably Mr.Yashwant Sinha own son Yashwant Sinha is the Minister of State for Civil Aviation who has trained his gun against his own father who has served as 'Finance Minister'.
The BJP has lost its ability to judge people and now completely became ‘Policy Paralysis’. The party does not know what is the priorities other than ' cow governance', 'mob lynching' .

It's only hopes are 'burnol' selling cottage industry.Whereas PM Modi confined to his 'Mann ki baat'.
Now India has realised ""Kamal ka phool hamari bhool"
    Jai Hind

Many cases like 2G, coal scam, Herald etc were investigated based on the complaint by individuals like Subramanya Swami. Then congress government not initiated the probe by themselves. Later on when court found prima facie evidence asked the investigation agencies to conduct enquiry.

Similarly, Congress is having so many so called best lawyers like Sibbal, Chidu, Manish etc. If they are so confident about Amit Shah son's case, they must immediately file a PIL and initiate probe through courts.
We have many examples like fake allegations from Kujli, Manish Tiwari etc who alleged so many corruption cases against Gadkari. One is facing trouble and appointed Jetmalani and other one apologized. It is easy to allege but you must stand with your allegation. Why congress or any other opposition party is afraid?

Now the Amit Sha's son already filed defamation case. During the trial it will automatically lead to investigation, because the opposite party must justify its allegation. If the opposite party wins then there will be an investigation. First provide prima facie evidence. Otherwise court will not accept any case.

Ponkra, people who have knowledge and guts always speaks the truth fearlessly. One such gentleman is Mr. Sinha who is concerned about the country over his own life. Such people are true patriots. Not the one who shed crocodile tears and fool people saying he left everything for the country. Bravo Mr. Sinha. It is better to die as a hero than enjoy like a slave.

BJP (government) is systematically losing all the laurels they earned. Importantly, when Mr. Modi enjoys or never takes any step warning the hardline communal activists and some organizations (VHP, Senas, RSS inspired leaders, DAL's) who come openly and speak communally influenced hatred speeches against minority. Such activities have done more harm than any good to the party. Most of the IT raids, political election based attacks and criticism and framing is a clear indication that government is biased.

Modi conveniently keeps a deafening silence on all such issues. Wherever a scam is reported in BJP ruled state, no action is taken because accountability will involve guilt and puncture the high moral ground facade that they have been claiming all these three years. While the media attention is on Amit Shah's son, who are all the Board of Directors. The country should know.
