BJP mocks Rahul for visiting temples, says mere darshan won't fetch votes

New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS): The BJP on Friday mocked Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for visiting temples in poll-bound Gujarat, saying votes cannot be fetched by merely visiting temples and praying to God but through work.

"Prabhu ke darshan se vote nahi milta, vote milta hai kaam se (votes are not got by visiting temples but by work)," Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told a press conference here.

He was referring to Rahul Gandhi's two visits to Gujarat during which he visited several temples, including Kabir Mandir in Saliya and was seen sporting a "tilak" on his forehead.

Prasad accused the Congress of halting development in Gujarat for years and said Rahul Gandhi will have to answer why his government deliberately delayed many projects when it was in power at the Centre.

"The UPA government did everything to ensure that Sardar Sarovar Dam did not get completion or objections were raised unnecessarily," he said.

"I am raising this issue because Rahul Gandhi is talking about development in Gujarat. But he will have to give account of his work," he said.

The Union Law Minister also accused the Congress leadership of doing nothing to stop corruption when they were in power.

"We have completed three years in power and there is not even a single charge of corruption against us. Taking measures against corruption has never been a part of the DNA of Congress. Have Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi ever tried to control corruption. The whole DNA of Congress has been reeking of corruption," he said.

How tragic! Politics going to this pits that a person educated enough is commenting on the visits of another on the laters visits to place of worship. It just exhibits the arrogance of the Party in Government who feel that they can say what they like. Shameful indeed! Time they were put in place. Citizens of India are no fools even if they have wasted last forty months thumping their extraordinary large sizes chests.

Good to know that BJP is not temple visitors, and only giving endlos pressmeet to get votes?withall their preaching on Hindutva and laughing over Rahuls visit to temple ,thinking he does that to gain vote? Nothing else they can bring up.There will not be complains about any corruptions of BJP ,because they didnt do also any thing .so where is the question of corruption?Except pressmeet ,and cowproject. Why should they not think ,he might have visited the temple because of his mothers sickness?did they forget?

BJP is right. Mere visiting temples doesn't fetch you votes. You should create communal violence and this will lead you to get the votes. Finally BJP agreed that they get votes based on communal politics.

True, mere visiting or praying won't fetch votes, but demolishing religious structures & dividing communities with religious fervor like they did only can give rich dividends, & when Vikas is on paper initiate communal riots is also has succeeded for BJP till now.
NDA's DNA people know, how to brush scams under carpet, buy media with money & threaten them with CBI, IT & ED if they fail to toe their line has worked too.
No Lokpal or Jan Lokapal till now in center & all the Modi rule in Gujarath, CAG reports of scams there still not investigated is not the way to prove there is no corruption.
People have suffered a lot in all these 3 years, no need to preach them.
