Bangalore, Jun 13: Though the Congress leaders maintain that they are not interested to pull down the BJP Government, the Congress High Command is actively considering a strategy to form government in coalition with JD(S) again.
In a new development, Congress circles are agog with rumours that Union Minister Oscar Fernandes would be appointed as KPCC President in place of Mallikarjun Kharge.
The change may take place after the Rajya Sabha polls being held on June 26. The High Command feels that Oscar is close to JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda and it may facilitate easy formation of a coalition Government.
The Congress High Command expects the BJP Government to fall on its own within six months following a revolt by the five Independent Ministers in Yeddyurappa government.
The Congress, with 80 MLAs, can easily form the government with JD(S) which has 28 MLAs. The five of six Independent MLAs may support the new coalition after pulling out of the Government due to serious differences with the ruling party.
As a first step towards this goal, the JD(S) and Congress have formulated a strategy of 'give and take' in the Rajya Sabha elections. They are negotiating each other in regard to Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council polls.
While JD(S) has agreed to co-operate with Congress to win two RS seats, the Congress has offered its support to JD(S) to win two Council seats.
A clear political scenario will emerge after RS polls, it is said.
