Rahul attacks govt over Global Hunger Index report; Irani hits back sharply

New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI): Citing the Global Hunger Index, Rahul Gandhi has attacked the government in a veiled manner, evoking a sharp reaction from Union minister Smriti Irani who said the Congress vice president was out to "malign" the nation in his bid to run down Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gandhi tweeted a news report on the Global Hunger Index along with a Hindi couplet by poet Dushyant Kumar which read: "bhookh hai to sabr kar, roti nahi to kya hua, aajkal dilli mein hai zer-e-behas yeh mudda (if you are hungry, be patient, what if bread is not available, the issue is being discussed in Delhi."

Irani, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Textiles, responded to Gandhi's tweet in a similar fashion.

"Ae satta ki bhookh, sabr kar, aankde sath nahi to kya, khudgarzon ko jama kar, mulk ki badnami ka shor toh macha hi lenge (hey hunger for power, be patient, what if you don't have the numbers, you can collect selfish people, noise can be made to malign the country)," she wrote.

In another tweet, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said, "Not surprising that in his keenness to run down Hon PM, Rahul Gandhi maligns the Nation."

Along with this tweet, Irani posted a statement by Health Minister J P Nadda which read: "Facts vs Fiction on Global Hunger Index to enlighten people who are keen to run down our country by twisting facts."

What 56 inch Feku , Chudidar baba and Daku are doing. Why can't they bring all so called your looted money from scam AMMA and atleast they can increase the turnover of Amit Shah's Son's business turnover, FORGET 15 lakhs to all Indians or feeding hungry Indians. They have absolute majority now in Parliament ,to do their all drama ,acting and direction in front Indian public. In spite of absolute majority if they can't act now its better all them to fallow Chudidar Baba Style.

Then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi could scarcely have known that an off the- cuff remark about the growing vanity among teenage girls would cook up such a storm. In an interview to the Wall Street Journal, Modi blamed the growing levels of malnutrition in Gujarat to figure-conscious young girls.
Sadly, his attempt to assuage the controversy with a clarification issued, that seemingly sought to reinforce his assertion, only landed him in further trouble. 'We are the first state in the country to raise the issue of malnutrition. It came to our mind that Gujarat is by and large a vegetarian state.
'And secondly, Gujarat is also a middle-class state. The middle-class is more beauty- conscious than health conscious – that is a challenge,' the press release quoted Modi as saying. 'If a mother tells her daughter to have milk, they'll have a fight. She'll tell her mother, 'I won't drink milk. I'll get fat.'
According to the third National Family Health Survey over 41 percent of Gujarati children under three years of age are underweight, which is worse than the national average. Over 55 percent of Gujarati women in the 15-45 age group are anaemic.
This is the 'reality of the Gujarat Model' which BJP wanted to their daughters to take ride for 'selfie'.
Ms.Irani who drinks milk or not she should shedding some extra weight and think seriously about hunger Index which Prime Minister of the nation attribute to beauty.
    Jai hind

So.. Irani, are you telling us that Global Hunger Index is a sham?
You do realize that India stood at 55th rank before chaiwala became the PM right?
Now its at 100th rank. Soon, even Pakistan will be ahead of us. (Not that its a bad thing, but after all we are rivals)
This is the thing our Former Honourable PM was talking about when he was against demonetisation.
I would love to say "Now, suffer the consequences of your selfish and suicidal actions" but then I realised that we are the ones who will be the scapegoat of your selfish motives. You people will be watching Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 4k in your 70+ inch OLED TV in your AC home.

You will get back what you do BJP.
People have FINALLY started to realise your true colours. I am pretty sure you won by hacking the EVMs and if you win this time, it definitely means the election was rigged or Indians are really stupid

Ignorance is bliss to you aint it Rajesh?
This is not my opinion. Its the Global Hunger Index which is showing the REAL Indian Economy.
Neither by congis nor by BJ-Pees or by any other Indian political party have a hand in this.
Just so you know, we are behind North Korea by 7 ranks. How shameful is that?
And we call our economy "The worlds fastest emerging economy" ????
Read the newspapers often Rajesh. Do not read your politician's opinions but of a common man. Telecos are annoying us with forced aadhar linkeage. Everyone is scared what will happen if bank accounts arent linked with aadhar card before Dec 31st. No one knows shit about GST and they have increased the price automatically and they (the bj-Pee) say inflation is normal.
Everyone is going to pay a huge price for the mistake committed in 2014, everyone except bj-Pee's big guns, the Ambanis and Adanis..oh let me correct myself. The Gujarathi rich people.

Afterall the centre has found corrupt people only in other non ruling states which doesnt fall under bj-pee
