Margao, Jun 16: Three youths were arrested on charges of assaulting a policeman on duty here on Saturday, June 14.
According to police sources, the car in which the three were traveling hit a motorcyclist following which the two sides had an altercation. Traffic policeman on duty, Arun Desai, attempted to resolve the dispute.
At this, Costa Fernandes, Mario Fernandes, and Milagres Fernandes, assaulted Desai. The three hail from Maina-Curtorim, and were soon arrested by officers from Margao police station.
The case is being investigated. Last week, a similar incident occurred at Cuncolim, wherein two youths had beaten police officers.
