Mumbai, Jun 16: Kannada books ‘Bala Thackeray Mattu Itara Sandarshanagalu’, and ‘Gurbanakki’ were released by renowned scientist and popular litterateur Dr Vyasa Rao Ninjoor, at a function organized by the Karnataka Sangha in the city, recently.
The first is a collection of interviews with Shiva Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, authored by senior journalist K T Venugopal and the second contains poems by novelist Rajeev N Nayak. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ninjoor commended the authors for their take on life in their respective books.
Eminent litterateur Dr Sunnite M Settee, while presiding over the ceremony said that a story should project hope and have a theme which leaves an impact on the readers. Eshwar Alevoor commented on ‘Bala Thackeray Mattu Itara Sadarshanagalu’ while Ahalya Ballal commented on ‘Gurbanakki’.
Manohar M Kori, president of Karnataka Sangha, welcomed the gathering while vice- president Dr G D Joshi honoured the guests.
