Mangaluru: Vikas PU College holds spectacular sports meet

Mangaluru, Oct 24: Vikas Pre University College, here on October 24, celebrated the spectacular Sports Meet at Mangala Stadium, here.

The long awaited event was inaugurated by chief guest Ramesh H N, assistant director, Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University. He hoisted the college sports flag and received the Olympic torch from the State and National level champions of Vikas College, and witnessed the March Past by the students. He appreciated the sportive spirit of the students and talked on the importance of sports in a healthy lifestyle.

 



Krishna J Palemar, chairman, Vikas Group of Institutions, presided over the inaugural function. He appreciated the students’ enthusiastic March Past and said that there was nothing as precious to man as a sound mind in a sound body.

Dr D Shripathi Rao, correspondent of Vikas Group of Institutions, welcomed the gathering. Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal Vikas PU College, proposed the vote of thanks. Trustees J. Koragappa, Suraj Kumar Kallya, Dr Ananth Prabhu G, advisor of Vikas PU College and Parthasarathy Palemar, coordinator, Vikas Group of Institutions, Dr K Ramesh, principal of Vikas College of Physiotherapy were present on the occasion.

Shruthi S Bhandary, Physics lecturer, compered the function.
