BJP to celebrate 'Anti-Black Money Day' on Nov 8, one year of note ban

New Delhi, Oct 25 (Deccan Chronicle): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate 'Anti-Black Money Day' on November 8 to mark the first anniversary of demonetisation, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Wednesday.

On the evening of November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation, scrapped 1,000 and old 500 rupee notes, in an attempt to tackle black money and corruption.

Jaitley said that all the prominent leaders, ministers, MPs and MLAs of BJP will hold a slew of programmes across the country and will highlight the achievements after demonetisation.

"I think the Congress has not understood the concept of demonetisation. The ownership of cash is not known, it is an anonymous owner. So when cash gets deposited in banks, what was being laundered earlier, now gets into the law books. So for entry into the lawful system, you are liable to pay tax," Jaitley said.

Lauding demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST), Jaitley said, "The government has expanded digitisation and tax base across the country."

He said the objective of demonetisation is not confiscation of money but squeezing the quantum of cash.

Jaitley lashed out at the Congress saying, "Those who ruined the nation are now giving sermons."

“Congress had adequate opportunity to be in power, and I can’t recollect a single significant step that they ever took against black money,” he added.

About the Congress' allegation that the Election Commission of India was delaying the Gujarat poll dates, Jaitley said: "The Congress was singing the praises of Election Commission during the Gujarat Rajya Sabha Election. The EC is duty-bound to act as per law. EC is not supposed to be browbeaten by a disgruntled and losing political party."

The Opposition had, on Tuesday, said that an amalgamation of 18 parties will ensure that the day is observed as a "black day" with protests and rallies in different states.

Instead of celebrating, they should initiate action on preventing future generation of black money.
In Katnataka ,not one piece of land or flat get sold on government fixed value or stamp value. How you account extra money you give or get?.As NRI I had to withdraw money from NRI account and need to give cash to get flat or land thus forced to contribute to black money
    Land reform is immideate need.
I dont know whether Demonetization was good or bad ,but it helped to control sky rocketted real estate to hit a fire wall which I think good for common man who is dreaming for a living space of his own.

“99% notes legally exchanged! Was demonetisation a scheme designed to convert black money into white?,” 1% of the demonetised notes not coming back to the central bank was a “shame on RBI”.

The economists behind the demonetisation move “deserve Nobel prize” as the RBI gained Rs 16,000 crore, but lost Rs 21,000 crore in printing new notes.
All but 1.4% of the old Rs 1,000 notes have come back into the banking system post demonetisation, the RBI said in its annual report for 2016-17.

Out of 632.6 crore pieces of Rs 1,000 currency notes in circulation, 8.9 crore have not been returned post the note ban last November, it said.

The RBI data released today proves only Rs 16000 crore out of the 15.44 lakh crore money in circulation came back and of this, Rs 9000 crore is still stuck.

“Perspective: This Rs 16000 crore is just 1 % of the total notes demonetised,”

Interestingly Bellary Janardhana Reddy on bail from jail arranges his daughter's extravaganza Rs500 crores wedding in the middle of the demonetisation when the entire nation stood outside the bank waiting for their ration of savings from their own account.
In Gujarat BJP's master strategist Amit Shah Rs5000 capital company makes 16,000 times more than nation share index in just one year to Rs80 crores during 'demonetisation' and profitable company close after the massive profit.
Pakistan Prime Minister ousted in 'Panama' scam' and Dr Raman Singh name in the same file is protected. Former Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa who was on bail from jail in mining kickbacks is the only hopes for the party.

BJP showing itself as a party with least credibility.

It is the party which converted black money to white, with demonetization. The evidence is right there as every note with old 500 and 1000 note coming back to the banking system.

While many lost their life, to get their own hard earned from long ques. Daily wage workers lost jobs etc. etc. It is not black money day. BJP is celebrating converting black money into white, for the rest of India, it is BLACK DAY.
