Mangalore: Muhurtam of Percy Urwa's Tulu Play 'Circus' held

Mangalore, Jun 20: Muhurat for 'Circus' a new Tulu play written by Percy Urwa, was held at a grand function organized at Woodlands Hotel in the city on Wednesday June 18.

Noted singer Sharada Barkur provided the occasion an auspicious beginning by singing devotional song. The programme was inaugurated by Fr Cyril Lobo, Ashoknagar parish priest, by lighting the lamp.

Well-known litterateur Achuth Kallapu who released the script of the play, conveyed his best wishes for the success of this Tulu play. Writer Shivanand Karkera, playwright Devdas Kapikad, theatre personality Baikad Janardan Achar, playwright Praksh V N and 'Yenkululla' team founder, dramatist Umesh Alake participated in the programme and extended their hearty wishes for the success of the new play.

This will the first Tulu play to work with, for the music director Gururaj M B, winner of 'Aryabhata' award. The play, in which stage artistes with proven talents will perform, will be directed by young director Sudhir Raj Urwa. The play is set to be staged in the Town Hall in the city on August 31, September 1 and 2 this year.
