Panaji, Jun 20:  The Student Cell of Bhartiya Janata Pary, Goa Pradesh has demanded for 50 percent concession in bus fares for students commuting in shuttle service buses.

State government run Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL), has been running shuttle bus services in the state, for last many years. This service is preferred by passengers, as it does not pick up passengers in between stops and saves the time of commuter.

Although the shuttle services charges around four rupees more as compared to local buses, people prefer them to save time and for comfortable travel as they usually get seating accommodation.

A delegation led by president of Bhartiya Janta Yuwa Morcha Ashish Shirodkar and treasurer of BJP Student Cell Atmaram Barve and  other leaders met Sanjay Goel, Managing Director of KTCL, and placed their demand before him.

On being asked by the delegation as to why their demand for 50 percent fare concession is not being acceded to with immediate effect, Goel cited revenue constraints being faced by KTCL, a press note said.
