This is a terrible tragedy for the parents to lose their one-year-old child. May the soul of Arush RIP. Deepest sympathies to the bereaved parents. This is a lesson for others not to give hard snacks to young kids. Thanks to Dr. S Kamath of Mumbai for the good advice on this issue of choking among young children. People learn from mistakes.

Next time if you suspect some thing has stuck in child's throat just catch the child with both the feet in hands and hold upside down with head up feet down till the stuck food particles come out through mouth .This is the best solution

RIP Arush. Sad to hear. Heartfelt condolences to your Dad and Mom.
Dr. I think it should be Head down Feet up Instead "hold upside down with head up feet down". Good advice thank you very much.

    Dr Kamath
You are giving wrong direction. If you just hold baby upside down by the leg it may choke on saliva without the food coming out.
