Kadaba: Rs 6 lac worth of gold jewellery stolen from Shiradi house

Kadaba, Oct 3: Gold jewellery weighing around 75 grams and valued at approximately Rs 6 lac was stolen from a house at Addahole in Shiradi village of Kadaba taluk on Thursday night.

The thieves allegedly broke open the lock of the rear door of the house and gained entry before fleeing with the jewellery.

Shalini, wife of late Thomas K S and a resident of Kakkuttil house in Addahole, lodged a complaint regarding the incident. In her complaint, she stated that the stolen jewellery included three gold bangles weighing 25 grams, a gold bracelet weighing six grams, a gold necklace weighing 20 grams and a gold chain weighing 24 grams, totalling around 75 grams.

Shalini was the only person residing in the house. She had left home at around 6 pm on Thursday to attend a church feast and returned at around 10 pm, when she found that a theft had taken place at the house.

Based on the complaint lodged by Shalini, a case has been registered at Uppinangady police station.
