Doha, Nov 5: "Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) is all set to celebrate the 62nd Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 17. The function will be held at Delhi Public School Auditorium, Wakrah, here from 3.30 pm onwards."
Briefing the media on the scheduled event, H K Madhu, KSQ president stated that this year's celebration will witness a variety of cultural and entertainment programmes. "Padmashree awardee, former Rajya Sabha member, noted theater and cine artiste B Jayashree will grace the event as a special guest. The granddaughter of iconic theater personality Gubbi Veeranna will be conferred with Qatar Kannada Samman award for 2017.
"H Dundiraj, known for his wit and humour in Kannada literature, especially in the field of Hanigavana is expected to share his indepth work and experience through his unique style of presentation to enthrall the audience.
"Popular Sandalwood stars will add glamour to the Rajyotsava event. The famous young hero on the big Kannada screen, Bigg Boss reality show winner and a judge for many ongoing Kannada reality shows, Vijaya Raghavendra and U Turn film fame, upcoming actress Shraddha Srinath will attend the event as guests of honour.
"The famous melody trio led by Jogi Sunitha along with H S Sreenivasa Murthy and Nakul Abhayankar will render songs of yesteryears from the current blockbuster movies along with Bhavageethe and folk songs.
"Karnataka Sangha and its sister organizations namely Tulu Koota, MCC and Bunts Qatar will also present programmes during the event.
"Children from the weekly Kannada class conducted by KSQ, for the first time are gearing up for the special show to exhibit their talents. Sreegandha, the annual souvenir will be released."
The president appealed to the members and the entire community from Karnataka to participate in big numbers to make the event a success.
