TN Governor Purohit learning Tamil


Chennai, Nov 8 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has started learning Tamil, one of the world's oldest surviving classical languages.

Fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi, Purohit began learning Tamil from a Tamil teacher owing to his love for the language, a statement from his office said.

According to Purohit, Tamil is a classical and beautiful language and learning it helps one to converse well with people.

A three-time Lok Sabha member from Nagpur, Purohit was Managing Editor of The Hitavada newspaper and assumed office as the Tamil Nadu Governor on October 6.
