Police vehicle attacked on Jammu-Srinagar highway


Srinagar, Nov 10 (IANS): Militants fired at a police vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Friday, police said adding that no damage was, however, done in the attack.

The incident occurred in the Qazigund area, a police officer said. The area has been cordoned off for searches.

In another incident, guards at the district police lines in Pulwama fired a few rounds after they noticed suspicious movement.

In August, militants had attacked the Pulwama police lines killing eight security personnel. Three militants were also killed in a gunfight then.
