Congress refuses to comment on Sri Sri's role in temple issue

New Delhi, Nov 14 (IANS): The Congress on Monday refused comment on spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's role in attempting a solution to the Ram Mandir issue.

Congress Spokesperson Manish Tewari asked the government to clarify if the spiritual leader was its designated interlocutor on the vexed issue or was just a skylarking operation.

When pointed out that Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had denied an official role for Sri Sri on the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Tewari said: If the Minister says it is not a government sanctioned effort, then there is nothing further to say."

"But I do hope that this gentleman, who is playing the negotiator, has settled issues which the National Green Tribunal has with him."

We can waive off 75 lakhs if Sri Sri is able to narrow down to a peaceful resolution to the temple issue.

Why doesn't Congress has the guts to condemn Sri Sri?
They will not , in the fear of loosing votes.
As it is, pappu is on temple tour these days.

"But I do hope that this gentleman, who is playing the negotiator, has settled issues which the National Green Tribunal has with him."

What an apt statement - regardless of who said it!

The gentleman, who has built his "spiritual" business using press releases (and possibly nothing else), never loses an opportunity to jump in to play a peacemaker/negotiator.

Why does he not get tired of insulting others' intelligence?

I would suggest to the gentleman, "please settle the National Green Tribunal case, and (no) thanks for your future press releases".

As an Indian, I want an early settlement of Ayodhya issue. But, going by the news in both sides of the coin, it does not seem to be going in the right direction. Sunni board says they are the real people who are recognised by Allahabad HC. Shia board's spokesperson Naqvi is not even a Muslim, some say. Govt, does not say they have authorized Sri Sri, who has yet to pay 75 lakh fine imposed by NGT. Shias are stabbing the Muslims, say Sunnis. By December, foundation will be laid, say VHP. Mr. Awasi says Sri Sri is negotiating with Tom, Harry and Dick, who are not even recognized by Sunni board.
