Margao Jun 29: Though six platoons of Rapid Action Force and most of the police officers and their concerned staff is deployed in Margao to quell tense situation, a petro bomb blast allegedly took place in Hospicio Hospital in the wee hours on Saturday June 28, near the bed of Bajrang Dal south Goa convenor Jayesh Naik, who is admitted here. No one is hurt in this blast.

Jayesh Naik along with his three colleagues was admitted in the hospital, as they had suffered injuries after police resorted to caning on Friday.

Bajrand Dal activists have leveled allegation against police that they are safeguarding the culprits involved in the petrol bomb blast, which was carried out by using a beer bottle.

How could a petro bomb be thrown into the hospital when heavy police security under the leadership of SI Navlesh Desai is deployed outside? Does not this prove that police are safeguarding the real culprits, asked Bajrang Dal acitivists.

This purely means police know the culprits behind this incident and they are safeguarding as this is purposely done on the behest of political interference, activist alleged.

When this correspondent spoke to chief secretary J P Singh in this regard, he said that enquiry has been ordered in this case and they will take strict action on those involved in this incident.

Asked how blast occurred despite police presence there, he (Singh) said that he will able to comment only after he gets the report.

No government can allow anyone to take law unto their hands and damage private property. "Goa has great heritage of communal harmony. To maintain it, we have to take necessary steps. I also people to support us so that we can bring the situation back to normal," he added.

Singh has also ordered concerned officer to estimate the losses suffered by shop owners in the Friday's riots.

Meanwhile as a local Hindu organization had called for bundh, city remained shut in most places.
