Udupi, Jul 3: 'Fruits and flowers exhibition - 08' will be organized for the first time here, from Friday July 4 to Sunday July 6, by the department of horticulture at Laxmi auditorium on National Highway 17 here, informed Dr V S Nanda, deputy director of horticulture on Thursday July 3, at a press conference.
 
Various flower saplings including decorative and aromatic flowers and several varieties of fruits that are grown in the department nurseries and green houses will be displayed at the fruits and flowers exhibition. he added. 
 
On the occasion,  bonsai, artistic presentations of horticulture department, dry flowers arrangements, cashew processing, cut-flower, vegetable art etc will be on display at the exhibition.  Arrangements have also been made for private nursery owners to display the flower saplings  grown by them at the exhibition, he explained.

A handbook related with horticulture that will be of much help to farmers will also be released during this period, he said..
 
Udupi district assistant director of horticulture N Somayya was also present at the press meet.
