Beltangady, Jul 6: Vanamahotsav was celebrated at St Peter Claver Church School, Aladangady - Arva, near here by planting the saplings and through variety entertainment programme.

Ajit Kumar Jain, a local advocate was the chief guest present, speaking at the occasion, urged all for conserving the natural resources.

Fr Arun Lobo, parish priest of St Peter Claver church and correspondent of School, explained the co-existance of human being as that of ones surroundings.


Parish council vice president Aloysius D’Souza, secretary William Lobo were present on the dais.  The programme was attended by large number of parents of school students.

St Peter Claver church and school complex situated in the pristine surroundings overlooking Kudremukh hill and section of Western Ghats at Arva, en route Beltangady state highway, 70 kilometers away from Mangalore city.

It was founded by a German Jesuit missionary Fr Faustine Korti in 1910 whose noble task was continued by his energetic assistant and first clergy Fr Angelo Gaviragi followed by several parish priests whose relentless hard work has blessed the community abundantly who are now under the pastoral care of youngest parish priest Fr Arun Lobo.
