Mangalore, Jul 8:
St Vincent Ferrer church, Valencia, has added yet another feather to its cap by launching an association called Young Christian Students (YCS).  Thirty-five young, energetic, and enthusiastic, members took the pledge before hundreds of people gathered in the church for the morning service on Sunday, July 6.

This association is targeted at PUC students and aims at their personality development as well as helping them render service to the society. Fr Ronald D’Souza, the diocesan director of YCS, presided over the Eucharist along with the parish clergy.

The members took active part in the liturgy and the mass was followed by the formal inaugural programme.  Fr D’Souza unveiled the logo of YCS and the oath-taking ceremony was led by Fr Maxim Rosario.

Animators Patrick D’Souza, Rita D’Souza, and Deena D’Souza, were felicitated on the occasion.  Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, the parish priest, addressed the gathering. Following the Holy Eucharist, a get-together was organized which had group activities.  YCS members have also planned out certain programmes for this year.
