Mangalore: Anganawady Workers Demand Solution to Issues

Mangalore, Jul 8:
Members of the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Anganawady workers’ association, protested in front of the zilla panchayat office, located at Urwa Stores, on the morning of Monday, July 7.

They urged the state administration to solve several issues of concern to anganawady workers. Earlier, they also held a rally from Lady Hill culminating at the venue of the protest.  


 
The protestors demanded supply of food grains to anganawady centers across the district through CDPO, consideration of anganawady workers and assistants as government employees, hiked honorarium, payment of monthly pension to anganawady workers who have retired after putting in 10 years of service, reinstating of anganawady workers who are already retrenched after the passing of a law, and opposed privatization of anganawady centers.
 
Association leader Jayalaxmi Hegde, Cheriamma, Vasanti, Pushpa, Vijaya Ishwar Gowda and others were the participants.
