Udupi, Jul 9: The term of judicial custody of Atul Rao, key suspect in Padmapriya death case, is coming to an end today. The Udupi court will be deciding on the aspect of whether to extend his custody or release him on bail. The public prosecutor has been given time till Wednesday July 9 to file objections to the bail application Atul has moved before the district and sessions judge here.

Manipal police station inspector B G Achar said that the public prosecutors of both the courts, court of the chief civil judge which remanded Rao to judicial custody and the district and sessions court where the extension plea is being heard, have been instructed to pray for the extension of Atul's custody and oppose moves if any, to grant him bail.

Achar further revealed, that the investigating team is yet to receive the report of the Delhi police on Padmapriya's death. Till that report is received, it would be impossible to conclude investigations, he explained.

Atul Rao, presently lodged in the district Wenlock Hospital, is being brought to the city to be presented in the court.
