Mangalore: Tulu Short Film 'Materla Badukoli' Set for Jul 11 Release

Mangalore, Jul 9: 'Materla Badukoli', a Tulu short film on environmental protection, will be released at a function to be held at Car Street Kalikamba Vinayaka temple here on Friday July 11, revealed Dinesh J Acharya, director of this film of one hour duration.

This film, produced by Bhuvaneshwari Creations Haleangadi, is not suitable for screening through cinema theatres, as it was shot using a camcorder. It suits television screens, and a cable channel will air the film on July 13, 19 and 20, Acharya informed.

Prakash Suvarna, director of an earlier award winning Tulu film 'Akku', will speak on the new film at the launch function. A total of 12 actors have acted in this film, Acharya said. Dhanraj, producer of the Tulu movie, 'Koti Chennaya' that bagged the best film award under regional films category at the national level recently, informed that he will be producing another Tulu film titled 'Birduda Devu Poonja' shortly, to be directed by Ramachandra.
