Udupi: Students Want Semester System to be Scrapped

Udupi, Jul 9: Pressing their demand for discontinuing the semester system being followed by colleges under Mangalore Uniersity, students of MGM College Udupi boycotted their classes and staged a protest.

The semester system has subjected students to untold miseries. The students, unlike the previous system, cannot appear for the final examination before completing all the subjects in the first and second semesters, the protesting students alleged. They have urged the offiicals to dilute these conditions and help students.

Student leaders Mehtab, Rizwan, Pradhan, Pradip, Sahil Shazil etc., were present.

    These students do not want to study. Incompetent Lot! They want to go to college as time Pass Type. Semester system forces students to learn something related to their syllabus.

    How about scrapping the exams altogether? Aren't you proving yourselves to be incompetant? College education should always be semester based so as to be intensive and competetive.
