Mangalore, Jul 10: Speaking to his supporters who had gathered for the opening ceremony of his newly-opened office at Bajpe on Wednesday July 9, Moodbidri MLA Abhaychandra Jain said that he is opposed to any forceful acquisition of land for the Mangalore Special Economic Zone over and above the already acquired land measuring 1,800 acres.
"I actively lend my support to Eesha Vithaldas Swamiji from Kemar, who has sided with the common people to fight against the land mafia. I will speak to the district-in-charge minister and demand the government by moving a resolution objecting to the special economic zone in the assembly," he explained.
If the 15.34 acres of land in Permude was not taken over by the MSEZ by using force, officials should say so in front of the people of the country. Their move to approach the court to create problems for the poor, laying of foundation stone for the project against the wishes of the local people through courts of law are all the acts of coercion. "I fully support the enedeavours of Kemar Math swamiji," he said.
