Daijiworld Media Network – Tumkur (EP)

Tumkur, Dec 12: When people believed that it was safer to travel by government owned KSRTC buses, a recent incident has shocked bus travelers as well as general public. A bus conductor behaved indecently with a young girl passenger and she was saved because of intervention by fellow passengers.

The conductor is Jawahar Ahmed from Holenarasipura KSRTC depot,

The incident happened on the night of Monday, December 11 in the bus on the way from Hassan to Bengaluru. The girl got into the bus from Hassan. As no seat was vacant, she sat next to the conductor.

When the bus reached Kunigal, conductor switched off the lights and touched the girl indecently.

The girl, who got afraid, protested and raised an alarm. The passengers immediately came to the rescue of the girl and assaulted the conductor.

A complaint stands registered in Kunigal police station and the police have taken Jawahar into custody.

Hope KSRTC takes all necessary disciplinary steps to stem the rot, and instill confidence in the travelling public, especially among female passengers.

Hope the punishment that is meted out by the KSRTC, the Police Dept. and the Courts of Law, acts as a strong deterrent to any other persons with bad intentions from carrying out sexual intimidation/harassment/attacks against women.

Atrocious... A conductor of any public conveyance should be a help to the passengers and not a menace. Congrats to the fellow passengers for coming to the help of the young girl. Stern police action should be taken against the conductor and the case presented to the court for action.

Right therapy to the conductor. There are always some people who dace out of their line.So cant say which religion, caste,or gender is good.there are black sheeps who spoil the name of their group. When conductor was a gentle man he would have left the place for a lady to sit and go elsewhere.or made someone getup and give the seat.instead he took the chance of the situation. Now he lost his job ?and fame.must have got enough on that day.

I had a very bad experience in the KSRTC bus. A guy misbehaved with me on my way back from honnavar to mangalore with my son. I complained to the conductor but he never reacted being late hours I was helpless as I did not get support from Co passengers as well. It's terrifying to travel in the red KSRTC busses.

    Well done by the Passengers....
Congress government has given free hand to one Community in the state to do anything as per their wishes.....
Those voting for the Congress should realize what is happening & should change their mind with immediate effect or else there will be one & only one Community will thrive in the state & others has to suffer due to the impotent state government.

Let this incident not change our attitude towards the general majority of KSRTC conductors. There was a time during peak season when a conductor of Airawat gave his seat to a passenger and then sat on the floor for the remainder of the trip!
