Mangalore, Jul 11: Dakshina Kannada Superintend of Police (SP) Satheeshkumar has extended a helping hand to the Jabalpur youth who lost his bag recently while travelling from Mumbai to Harihar.

Vivek, resident of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), had lost his bag due to a mix up of bags resulting in his bag getting exchanged with another bag owned by a passenger named Alvyn. Daijiworld.com has already published a story about this issue. Vivek has already lodged a complaint at Hubli police station in this regard.

Recently, Vivek and his father Mahendra Lakhanpal met SP Satheeshkumar and handed over to him the photo of Alvyn, with whom they believe, Vivek's bag got exchanged, and asked for his help to locate the missing bag. Meanwhile, BJP leader Franklin Monteiro has also taken the initiative in helping this family out.

SP has responded well to this case and handed over this issue to the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB). DCIB police have already iniated a probe in this regard.

At present the family is waiting to approach MLC Ganesh Karnik who heads the NRI Kannada cell in the district. They are hopeful of collecting information about Alvyn, from the immigration section. Sources informed, that Alvyn had travelled from Riyadh to Mangalore, through Mumbai international airport. He travelled in the same bus, from Mumbai to Hubli, in which Vivek was traveling.

While Vivek got down at Harihar, his bag was found missing. Later he found a similar bag in Bangalore KSRTC office in which he found the photo of Alvyn. Therefore, he suspects that his bag was exchanged with the bag belonging to Alvyn. He lost important documents like his BE degree certificate, SSLC and II PUC marks cards, passport, laptop and registration certificate of his motor bike owing to the exchange of the bags. Vivek has also lodged a complaint before the passport officer of Pune, about the missing of his passport.

Viveks’ father Mahendra Lakhanpal says, that he is not bothered much about the laptop which is lost owing to bag exchange. At the same time, he is not willing to take any legal action against Alvyn. But he wants his son's certificates back.
