4 killed in France train-bus collision


Paris, Dec 15 (IANS): At least four students were killed and 24 others seriously wounded after a train collided with a school bus in France on Thursday.

"Of the 24 injured, 21 are school students," said Philippe Vignes, an official with the county of Pyrenees-Orientales where the accident took place, Xinhua news agency reported.

The accident took place at a railroad crossing in the town of Millas, when a TER train hit the school bus which was carrying the students, according to BFMTV.

The school bus was cut in half after the collision, according to French media.

"All my thoughts for the victims of this terrible crash of a school bus and for their families," French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on Twitter.
