Mangalore: ZP CEO Wants Government Schemes on AIR

Mangalore, Jul 14: Heads of various departments have been directed to provide complete information on government schemes such as National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Horticulture Mission, ATMA, National Food Security Programme to people in rural areas through All India Radio. This will help the people in availing the benefits of various schemes, chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat A.M. Kunjappa has said.

Presiding over the district agriculture media advisory committee meeting here, Mr. Kunjappa said that it had been decided to organise phone-in programmes on AIR on the schemes during the next three months. The deputy director of the Department of Animal Husbandry will participate in the programme on July 16, deputy director of the Department of Horticulture on July 23 and joint director of agriculture on July 30, according to an official release here.

Head of the departments of Water Shed Development and an official of Krishi Vignana Kendra will take part in the programmes on August 6 amd August 13, respectively, the release added.
